Raleigh/Durham

Everyone thought Gary was joking when he said we were going to the RDU area for bbq, lemurs and Bulls.  He really wasn't.

We've been trying to take the lemur tour at Duke U since we found out about it the first time we visited the area.  Due to the pandemic, it was closed for 2 years.  We finally got to visit and it was just as fun as I imagined it would be.  Duke has been studying lemurs for decades now.  The lemurs are in their natural habitat and the tour guide takes you into one of their enclosures and you get to watch them eat and play.  They aren't wary of you but you definitely don't interact with them.  Duke wants to keep them as wild as possible.

We did indeed have bbq at our favorite restaurant called The Pit.  It was as yummy as we remembered.

Lastly, we took in a Durham Bulls game and no there weren't a bunch of lollygaggers there.  ;) (You have to watch the movie to get the reference).  Sadly the Bulls lost the game but we still had a good time watching them.  Go Bulls!

  1. Wow! You’re seeing some incredible historical and sporting places and also family to boot. I’m so happy that your trip seems to have been devoid of mechanical issues. So are you able to cross into Canada? May your travels continue safely. God bless and keep you my dear young friends!😊
