Manassas, VA

So excited to get to Manassas to see my sister.  :)  It's always a relaxing and fun time.

Ok, maybe not so relaxing because we did our favorite hike in the area again.  It's called Old Rag and it is a predominantly rock scrambling hike.  It's actually a lot of fun but it does tend to kick your butt.  :)

Gary always loves to take a day and go into The Mall in DC.  This time was a bit more fun than usual because we finally made it to the Jefferson Memorial and we also saw the FDR memorial and the JFK Jr. Memorial, which were all new for us.  We got to see some veterans from the Honor Flight as well.  It was such a meaningful day.

Back in the 80's, my sister and I saw Top Gun together so this year we just HAD to see the sequel together.  :)  It was a fun movie and we had fun at dinner afterward comparing the two movies.  Of course we decided the 80's version is better since we are 80's kids.

Since we are huge fans of Frank Lloyd Wright, we were excited to see one of his houses in the area.  We were surprised that he actually designed houses for "middle class" people.  The house we toured wasn't grand like Falling Water but it was still a display of the genius he was.

Gary took a side trip to the new Army museum.  He liked it so much he's already planning to go back and take me.

Our last day was spent in the town of Fredericksburg.  We toured a civil war battlefield and President Monroe's museum.  Very historic! Such a great time!  :)
