Walla Walla, WA and Coeur d Alene, ID

We wanted to give our livers a nice, long break after Boise but it just wan't meant to be.  ;)  Our next stop was Walla Walla, aka wine tasting country.  We had never been to the area and we were excited to go.  We had tips of where to visit from family and friends so we felt ready for battle.  Walla Wall did not disappoint!  We had so much fun visiting all the different types of wineries and wine tasting rooms.  We managed to keep our purchases to just about a couple of cases, knowing that they also ship.  You're not going to find the scenery you find in Napa/Sonoma but it's a different kind of beauty all on its own.  We highly recommend a visit and we are looking forward to our next trip back.

We rolled on down the road to Coeur d Alene, Idaho.  This area is known for its lake and recreation.  Of course it rained our first day out and about so we couldn't really do much outside.  We did some errands, went through the cute shops downtown and went to the resort for some wine and appetizers while looking out at the lake.  We made the most of a rainy day.
The next day we drove to Athol, Idaho where there is a cute little amusement park called Silverwood.  Being avid fans of amusement parks, we couldn't wait to go.  It ended being a bit of fun.  They have a couple decent roller coasters and it was just fun to do something we can't do every day.
The next day we took a boat ride on the lake.  We toured part of the lake front and viewed the famous floating green at the CDA Resort golf course. We have some friends from Boise that now split their time between Boise and N. Idaho.  They were sweet enough to drive over for dinner one night and showed us this wonderful Italian restaurant right next to the lake.  All in all it was a great time in CDA.  Hopefully it won't rain the next time we go back so we can take advantage of all the recreation the area has to offer. Off to Glacier NP!
